The Piers Island Ferry Co-op contracts us to provide regular ferry services to Piers Island, a private island of about 135 households located near Swartz Bay. Co-op members pay a monthly fee for unlimited ridership and other benefits. A schedule of six or seven weekly round-trip sailings can be maintained with 15 or more members. More sailings are added as the Co-op membership grows. 

Annually, the ferry carries over 2,200 passengers on 300 or more round-trip sailings. Water taxis and light cargo runs carry an additional 1,500 passengers and literally tons of luggage, groceries, furniture, appliances, building materials, etc. each year. Recently the company celebrated the boarding of the 10,000th passenger, together with a solid history of safety and performance for the past decade. Over the years, the passengers have experienced only a handful of delays due to wind and fog, and no cancellations due to mechanical or operator problems.

All sailings are available to all Islanders, their visiting friends, relatives and workers as walk-on passengers. Reservations are not required. Since Piers is a private island, all  passengers must be affiliated with an island resident.

Co-op members receive added benefits including 10- 20% discounts on guest ferry passenger tickets, dock dropoffs, water taxis, cargo runs & other services.

Water taxi service is available  '24-7'  between all Piers Island docks and Swartz Bay and Canoe Cove. Details are also shown above. One day notice is appreciated for bookings. In emergencies, a response time of one hour is offered. Cash or cheque accepted. Prices include GST (and are subject to increase due to upcoming HST).
